## Every belt, stripe and promotion in one place

The Progress page shows where every student stands in your belt system and who is close to their next promotion. It replaces the notebook, the spreadsheet and the memory of whoever teaches the most classes.

It works with the ranks your club actually uses: the BJJ belt system with stripes, karate kyu and dan grades, or your own levels for Muay Thai, boxing and kids programs.

## What the Progress page shows

- A promotion pipeline: how many students are ready, almost ready, in progress or have not trained since their last promotion.
- Each student’s classes and time toward the next belt, recent activity and last promotion date.
- Belt distribution for each discipline, for adults and kids. Click a belt to list every student who holds it.
- Recent promotions grouped by date, with belt visuals.
- Your progression system: the classes and months each rank requires, who is at that rank and who is working toward it.

## Stripes, degrees and readiness

- Stripe awards respect each rank’s own stripe limit, and black belts can be awarded degrees.
- Edit a rank’s requirements in place, without leaving the page.
- Promotion readiness counts active students only, so dormant members do not crowd the list.

## Students see their belt in the app

In the MatSync app, students see their current belt and promotion history for each discipline. Turn on Show progression to students under Settings, Student Access to also show their progress toward the next grade.

## How to set it up

1. Open Progress in the dashboard.
2. Choose a discipline in the progression system and set the classes and time each rank requires.
3. Select a belt to see its students, and use the pipeline to plan your next promotion day.

## Questions

### How does MatSync track BJJ stripes?

Each rank has its own stripe limit, for example four stripes on a white belt before blue, and black belts are awarded degrees instead of stripes.

### Can I use my own belt system?

Yes. Ranks are set per club and per discipline, so you can follow the IBJJF belt order, a karate kyu and dan system or your own levels.

### Can students see their belt progress?

Students always see their current belt and history in the MatSync app. Progress toward the next grade is shown when you turn on Show progression to students.
