# How to set up family and new-member discounts

## Step by step

1. **Open Discounts.** You see the welcome and family discount groups and can create custom groups.
2. **Set your family tiers.** Edit the family group and choose your own percentages for the second member and for the third member and onward.
3. **Set your welcome discount.** Choose a percentage or fixed amount for members who joined in the last 30 days and have no previous plan.
4. **Keep the rules active.** MatSync applies the single best discount a member is eligible for when they pay.
