# How to mark inactive members automatically

> Choose a period from 30 to 365 days and MatSync marks members without a plan or class as inactive, and reactivates them when they return.

## Step by step

1. **Open Settings › Student Access.** Find Automatically mark inactive at the bottom of Student access.
2. **Choose the period.** Pick 30, 60, 90, 120, 180 or 365 days. MatSync shows how many members would be marked inactive.
3. **Turn it on.** Matching members are marked inactive straight away and checked again every night. Booking a class or getting a plan reactivates them.
