Start for Free
Create the ranks your school uses, such as white, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown and black sashes, a belt order or your own grades, with the minimum classes and months for each. MatSync does not impose any style’s or federation’s curriculum.
Put the test date on a student’s record and the progress list shows who is ready, who is close and who has not trained enough since their last sash, counted from attendance.
Kids get their own sash track with up to three stripes per sash. Their history stays on the record when they move up to the adult sashes.
Give tai chi its own membership and simply never test those students. They book tai chi like any class, and their attendance still counts if they start kung fu later.
Give the team its own membership and its own classes on the timetable, open to the levels you choose. Shows and tournaments go on the calendar as one-off events.
Turn on each discipline you teach, each with its own ranks and requirements. A student who trains in both keeps a separate rank record for each, under one profile.
A membership can allow a set number of group classes per Monday-to-Sunday week, from 1 to 14. Once a student reaches the limit, further bookings that week need a class pass.
Owners and admins record medical notes on a student’s profile, such as a knee that cannot take low stances or jump kicks yet. Instructors see a medical flag on the roster and can open the details, while the notes stay out of student lists.
A tablet at the front desk runs the MatSync check-in kiosk: students scan their code as they arrive and the check-in lands in the class attendance. The instructor can also take roll on the roster.
With a family account, one parent login covers several children. Parents book classes, follow each child’s sashes and stripes and pay, and family discounts apply automatically to eligible memberships.
Students buy their membership in the app. Online payments go through Stripe at Stripe’s standard fees plus a 0.5% MatSync app fee. Cash, checks and bank transfers you record by hand have no transaction fee.
MatSync is free for up to 30 students, with every feature included, the member app and no credit card required. When the school grows past 30 students, the Grow plan is $39 per month, or $35 per month billed yearly.

Early-morning tai chi sits on the same timetable as the kung fu classes, on its own three-a-week membership. Those students book and pay like everyone else, with no sash test in sight.
Staff, broadsword and spear classes show their level on the timetable, sanda fighters get their own team membership, and lion dance practice fills up before New Year. Shows and seminars go on the calendar as one-off events.
